Top modern PERITUS CLINIC offers no wait care
After a successful professional career as leading urology specialist, head of clinic, Secretary General EAU and globe-trotting urology ambassador, professor Per-Anders Abrahamsson took off the doctor’s coat and put on the entrepreneur’s jacket.
His goal was to start a surgical cancer clinic with the ambition to offer care without queuing.
Per-Anders Abrahamsson’ s unique initiative has recently become reality. On September 1st, 2020 the Peritus Clinic, a surgical “time saving machine” was officially opened.
Dangerous delays
During his years as university professor, medically responsible for a university urology clinic, Per-Anders Abrahamsson saw with growing concern how the care queues grew. The delays, from the first suspicion of serious illness, via examinations to treatment, got longer and longer.
- In cancer every delay is of evil. Patients’ health deteriorates in
the care queue and the disease may go from curable to difficult to treat and even incurable. Of course, the socio-economic consequences of protracted wait in care queues are considerable, says Per-Anders Abrahamsson.
- Peritus Clinic has a top modern equipment and a very
competent staff, an ideal combination for enabling the clinic to radically reduce time from suspicion/diagnosis to treatment.
- Peritus Clinic welcomes patients in modern premises, equipped
with the latest technology in radiology, diagnostics and surgery. In our radiology department we have access to MRI (magnet resonance imaging) and X-ray computed tomography including trace element survey with PET.
From hush-hush to openness (photo P-cancer book)
During his active years in clinic urology Per-Anders Abrahamsson worked actively to spread knowledge of men’s health. He has given countless lectures to colleagues of various specialties, to prostate cancer patients in member’ s meetings, local and national.
Some decades ago, prostate cancer and other lower urinary tract problems were hush-hush, something Swedish men preferred not to talk out loud about.
With his book Prostate Cancer Per-Anders Abrahamsson reached many readers, not only health care people but also patients and men in risk ages.
New urological methods and medications were successively introduced and when it became relevant with a second edition, COB Media was engaged for project management and interviews.
Also, this edition was distributed via hospital urology clinics, GP’ s and patient associations to current patients and their families.
